Science-fiction/fantasy (SFF) and literary fiction are both genres which help sharpen children’s imagination as well as develop their emotional maturity. Reading literature also helps teach children compassion and empathy by allowing them to imagine life from another perspective.
How do contemporary works of juvenile fiction compare with earlier works of fiction in helping children develop their imagination and moral compass?
