create an abstract that should be written in 3rd person.
1st paragraph-state a problem or question to solve in the experiment.
2nd paragraph– summarize the procedure
Procedure: an empty plastic bottle (this is 1 litre bottle), newspaper torn up in strips, PVA craft glue, masking tape and a container for the water and glue mixture. To make the lava to mimic that of a real volcano you will need bicarbonate soda, red and yellow food coloring (or orange) and white vinegar.
You will need to create a hypothesis.
Application–
Include an explanation of real life connection or application for the project.
What is the application? You should include an application as part of your conclusion. For example, after investigating the effectiveness of different stain removers, you might conclude…..
*Also include any problems or variables that may have an adverse effect on the experiment. Should include any recommendations for modification or improvements. *Justification for the recommendations.
Data collection– After designing the experiment and gathering the material, its time to set it up and carry out the investigation. Carrying out the investigation involves data collection. Its two type of data that my be collected-quantitative and qualitative data. Use numbers to describe the amount of something.2. involves tools such as rulers, graduated cylinder ect. Use standard metric units(For instance, meters and centimeters for length. 3 use words to describe qualitative data. describe physical properties such as how something looks, feels, smells, or sound. Organizing data will be helpful when making an analysis.
Analyze- what can be learned from looking at the data? How does that data relate to the original hypothesis?
Conclusion–
Re-state the hypothesis. Indicate if the hypothesis was or was not support. use date to support whether the hypothesis was or was not support. Compare test and control data. The conclusion must match the data that was collected.
